Baby dolphin dies while Humans took Selfies
Baby dolphin dies after being kept out of the water for an extended period of time for taking Selfies, baby Franciscana dolphin was scooped out of the water by tourists at the beach who wanted to take a selfie with it.
As per Vida Silvestre, the local arm of the World Wildlife Fund, says that tourists in the town of Santa Teresita found the dolphin in the ocean and brought it ashore, passing it around the smartphone-brandishing crowd. It later died.
When dolphins are kept too long out of the water, they can essentially overheat and quickly succumb to dehydration, as looks to have been the case for this juvenile.
The dolphin’s body was later cast aside on the beach.
“It is fundamental that people help to rescue these animals, because every Franciscana counts now,” warned the Argentina Wildlife Foundation, in a memo released to the public after the incident.
